The first 2 photos are of the Almond trees in blossom when we got back from the UK in August - quite a surprise to open the blinds to see all white!

The rest are from this morning - Spring has finally come and we are just having our first BBQ of the season!

Neilther Jayne or I like rose bushes, so the twenty or so in the front garden were always on borrowed time! A friend took quite a few of them off us, so they didn't all go to be made into mulch.

The grass you see below is only 7 days after sowing! Wow - things grow fast here! Unfortunately, that is trye for the weeds as well, so ground coverage and mulch is essential!

The snails - couldn't resist taking a pic of them

At last the house is mostly unpacked and we are in a state that I can walk around and take a few photos for everyone to see

These only took me 10 mins to take, so no masterpieces

Enjoy!

LOVELY! you must have been unpacking like mad things to manage all that. It just looks gorgeous. Youre really lucky. Sat 24-Dec-2005 03:55

Jayne and I had a great afternoon at the One Day yesterday. Unfortunately, NZ lost, but a good experience for us to know what you can and can't take into Eden Park and where the best seats are to catch the sun

great shots neil so what cant you take in? Sun 4-Dec-2005 08:31

Eden Park - All Blacks vs Wallabies

Just a few snaps from my phone - so not great quality.

A great atmosphere again at Eden Park. We were a bit shocked when going into the gate that the whole section seemed full of Aussie fans - but when we got to our seats, it was actually a block of AB fans, so no problem!

Thanks to a great recommendation, we jumped on the ferry to Rangitoto at lunchtime on Sunday. 10 mins to Devonport and then 10mins across to Rangitoto.

Not being the fittest person, I was a bit apprehensive, as it does lokk a long treck up to the summit. I had top stop quite often to get my breath back, but after a few very steep stages, we finally got to the top! Amazing views and a sense of achievement for me!

We both said we would take a full day next time and bring a small picnic with us. You can also take several routes back down, so some options to fill out the day!

wow like the panoramic view as well Sun 28-Aug-2005 09:42

Auckland Zoo

Red Panda

View all 12 photos...
We always visit the zoo when visiting a city - never did when on holiday here, so finally decided to drive out West to take a look around.

Not the biggest zoo we've been to, but still really interesting. We'd seen the Red Panda before at Wellington zoo a few years ago and they are so cute The otters were also cute, but the enclosure was too close to the general public for our liking and there was some STUPID guy trying to wind them up - why do people do that?

Nice... Sun 28-Aug-2005 11:09
